ELDO HENDRICKS


One of the three men credited with the founding of Phi Sigma Pi.  Dr. Hendricks served as the president of the Warrensburg institution from 1915 to 1932, in which he retired.  He was also credited as being an instrumental element in the founding of the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma.  Dr Hendricks was a prominent member of the American Association of Teachers Colleges and a champion of the progressive policies for the professional education of teachers.  On February 14th, 1916, He, along with colleagues Claude A. Phillips and C.H. McClure would create Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity.  From 1931 to 1935, Eldo Hendricks served the national organization of Phi Sigma PI diligently.  He would later die in 1938 after suffering a heart attack.
